I''m personally aware of many friends and known people lost job. We at our company are also in a tensed situation. 15 lakhs expats are set to leave Kuwait by December.
So don''t count life here. If you are lucky stay here for another year. Not more than that. The question is many people have loans. This abrupt job loss will force them to exit without paying. How Banks are going to deal with this situation?

No country has saved by expelling migrants/expats. This place won''''t be exception. Real estate, banks, schools, all local business are going to feel the heat of expats leaving. When they realise it after an year or so they will open the doors again. But quality manpower won''t prefer to return or would have already proceeded with other options. People would just come for short term projects without family. Overall situation looks unhealthy.

A lot countries use Covid crisis as an excuse to implement stricter visa rules, which are pushing helpless migrants back to their countries without salaries and final financial settlements.
We have seen that whenever a crisis unfolds (global financial crisis, Arab Spring, crash in oil prices and, now, COVID-19), gulf countries normally announce several short-, medium- and long-term measures to control immigration or to ‘protect the local workforce’, despite accruing the immense gains of immigration and immigrants in the past.
The same logic has been recently applied in the United States as well by banning H1B visas for political gains to ensure local and Right-wing support for the forthcoming presidency elections. Thus, the labour market nationalisation drives in West Asian countries are not being implemented for the first time.
They fail to recognize that sustainable Development Goals recognizes the role of foreign workers in development and requires countries to facilitate orderly, safe, regular and responsible migration and mobility of people. On the ground, however, COVID-19 crisis is seeing countries move in the opposite direction.

Not only your surrounding it is happening everywhere. Someone I know was sacked and company forcing him to leave the country within 1 week after they cancel his work permit. Result lot of empty flats & the country is going to be deserted. I saw a report saying 1.5 million people will leave soon.

Yes. It''s a FACT Around 50% jobs are related to KOC/KNPC/PIC/EQUATE projects/jobs. So there is no new project and expected projects. So will have to go back to home countries. and pray for announcing new projects in Kuwait and come back....

Just a start. Seems many other major projects will be halt. KIPIC New refinery project will be at big risk of making huge job loss, unfortunately mostly Indians.
