The peninsula located on the Indian Ocean,
The landmass filled with immense emotion.
The nation lying in the center of our heart,
The republic containing diverse forms of art.
A developing subcontinent, with a very rich past,
A geographical area with culture very vast.
From the snowy Himalayan peaks, to the tropical plateau,
It has too much to offer, more than it can show!
India, the land of culture and tradition,
Land of the people, with a fixed ambition.
The greeneries of the huge land cannot be surpassed,
The variety of communities within are very vast.
No matter where we live,
The attachment to our nation is always alive.
No matter how much around the globe you roam,
After all, there isn’t a place like home.
Fighting with the colonial rulers, we learnt a thing,
To fight injustice, unity we must bring.
We led a prolonged struggle to see a free nation today,
We couldn’t have done it without the martyrs, Happy Independence Day!
