‘’Freedom is never given, it is won’’
-Philip Randolph

It was a memorable day. And till to this day, it is notable. You might be wondering what I am blabbering about. Maybe you’ll get it when I tell the date of this ‘prominent day’. 15th august. Yes... you got it right. It is India’s Independence Day. This is the 72nd year of celebration after India has won its freedom from the British. And the road to this achievement was not a simple one.

This day reminds us of the struggle our leaders took in order to make India an independent nation. They sacrificed their lives so that the citizens of India could have a bright future and that their mother country where not in the hands of any outsiders.

Over these years, our country has made a great progress in many aspects. Let it be sports, education, technology, defence, economics etc. our country and our people has proved that we are not one step behind anything and that we will try to advance more in the future. Indian leaders and revolutionaries such as Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Mahatma Gandhi, Bhagat Singh, Sarojini Naidu, Jhansi Rani, Gopal Krishna Gokhale and many more took part in the freedom struggle, which led to India’s sovereignty from external rule.

We must unite and celebrate this prosperous day together, not as people of different religion and caste but as Indians. We should pledge to protect the ethics of our nation and be proud that we are a citizen of India.

Jai Hind…!
