Independence Day

India, a country where all religions throng,
Days here which pass like an endless song.
The British rule which lasted a lifetime,
Was replaced with a day on the sands of time.

The flags on this day wag,
Without a step in the snag.
The heavy loudspeakers blow,
Like it is hard for the rivers to flow!

A thousand voices echo through the wavy seas
With a thousand drum beats.
As they cross they say
Victory for Independence day!

As birds flutter down the trees,
With all kinds of modern breeds.
All of them singing glories,
About our great Indian stories!
