Independence day is celebrated on 15th August in the year 1947. Its the day when India got its independence from British rule, after a very long struggle. The significance of celebrating independence day is to commemorate the independence of India.
It also denotes the anniversary of the partition of two countries, India and Pakistan.
All the Indians celebrate independence day to enjoy freedom and independence. They celebrate to remember the sacrifices and lives of people India lost during this struggle. Besides, India celebrates to remind that this freedom is earned in a hard way. Apart from this, the celebration awakens the patriot inside Indians. In schools, there is an arrangement of different functions. The students sing patriotic songs and they take a pledge to safeguard the freedom of the nation. They host the national flag and wind up by singing India's national anthem (Jana Gana Mana). Moreover, teachers in the school, wear tricolor dress to denote their patriotism for the country. One of the foremost purposes of the celebration of independence day is to make the youth aware. As the youth of the country can change the nation.
Furthermore, they celebrate so that the children can come to know the past of their country. Hence, they put their effort to make their country better. On this day, the Indians pay tribute to the great leaders because of whom India became fully independent. Leaders like Jawahar Lal Nehru, Bhagat Singh, Gandhiji, and many more who sacrificed their lives in making India an independent country.
India is the country where a large number of individuals live together whether they have a place with different religions, societies, or traditions and advocate this special event with great joy. They remember the soldiers who gave their lives to serve the nation and make India free form British rule.
