IIK Independence Day

Unbreakable for India

As the north captivated the south
We thought we entered the trade world
Nonetheless we knew we were the trade itself
As hours passed by and minutes went through
Only then we knew and recognized
What we were passing to,

Through the wars we moved
And through the battles we fought
And tragedy passed by
And like bricks we wouldn’t break
O’er as Indians united, we stood
And together we said we could,

Jai Hind! Jai Hind!
We fought and thought and
As a tiger we roared
As loud as we could
For all to hear
As we marched ahead,

Peace came at last
And all of us stood
With pride and power
We knew we could
We knew we could call our country ours
And for all we rose our flag for all to see,

Oh, how bright the day was
With the peacock’s tail spread
And it's wonderful colours ahead
Jai Hind! Jai Hind!
We said for all to hear
And for us to be Indians wherever we stood.
