The date 15th August from the year 1947 in India has become a very important day in the Indian history as we got freedom from British rule. Every year this day in India is celebrated as an “Independence Day” with great joy and happiness.
We are fortunate that our forefathers / Freedom Fighters such as Mahatma Gandhi, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, Bhagat Singh, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, etc. worked hard to get Independence and gave us a ‘Land of Peace’. A peaceful life that we are living today is just because of their sacrifices and remind us of our glorious past and achievements. India was the wealthiest nation before British rule and was called a “Golden Sparrow”.
In 1947 India was divided into 2 separate nations – India and Pakistan. After Independence, Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru Ji became the first Prime Minister of Independent India and raised the National Flag at Red fort, Delhi.
Since Independence, our country has made great progress and achievements in education, agriculture, science / space, defense etc. and there are many more to be achieved. Our scientist has made India proud by placing our National Flag – “TIRANGA” on the moon.
India is a best example of the phrase “Unity in Diversity” as people of all religion, caste, creed and culture, etc. live together.
One Flag, one land, one heart, one hand. I Love my India.
India is my Pride and I am proud to be Indian.
