The Indian Freedom was a long struggle which claimed thousands of lives and countless sacrifices. The date 15th August brings a sense of patriotism to Indians whether in India or abroad and makes the people behind our independence even more special.
Before Independence India was hopelessly poor as a result of steady de-industrialisation by the British. The abject poverty and sharp social differences had caste doubts on India’s survival as one nation.
Since Independence, India has made progress in various fields, some of which are:
-Telecom and Information Technology
-Agricultural Growth (yielding variety of crops)
-Infrastructure Development
-Progress in Education
-Achievement in the field of Healthcare
-Scientific Achievements (launched satellite)
The Government of India has emphasized equal opportunities to all the castes and religions after Independence. The depressed poor classes were grouped as “Scheduled Caste” and provided reservations in all sectors. The economic prosperity of our country too grew stronger day by day.
One of India’s achievements is its contribution to the Guinness Book or World Records where India contributed the third greatest number of records in the year 2011.
India has progressed in various ways since the attainment of Independence from British rule. Everyday India is achieving new goals paving a path to a better future.
