Long long ago, a farmer lived in a small village. His name was Damu. He was poor but kind and hardworking man. He had a son named Balu. He was studying in 2nd standard. The school was very far away from their house. Balu was going to school by walking daily. He was smart, brave and hard worker. At school his friends always teased him for wearing torn uniform and for carrying old bag. But he never asked for that, because he knows the difficulties or financial problem of his father
He helped his father in agricultural activities. They were living happily, even though they are poor.Every year the school was celebrating Independence Day.

This year, previous day of independence day, all students were decorating their own class room with balloons, craft works and candles etc.. Unfortunately due to short circuit the crafts caught fire and two children were inside the class room. Everybody scared and started to cry loudly. Balu came there and didn’t waste a second, he jumped into the class room and rescued his friends from the fire. Later the fire put off by the people. All of the students and teachers hadcongratulate him for his brave attempt. On Independence Day, he got an award from the school for his great and brave attempt.

Summary: - friendship means, understanding, not agreement. It means forgiveness not forgetting. It means the memories last, even if contact is lost.

HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY
