Independence in 2020

Dear friends, we all know we are going through a difficult situation now due to covid-19 pandemic.

Imagine if the pandemic had not affected us in 2020, we would have celebrated our Independence Day with full glory like past years.

We are now celebrating our 73rd independence this year in a different way. By whatever method, our independence is unique as we fought and earned our freedom after many years of struggle.

The importance of our freedom struggle is still not over today, since we are facing a new form of enemy this year, against which we are still fighting with the guidance of our government and authorities. But this situation helped us to think about some people about whom we were not bothered about.

In the fight against covid-19, our health care workers were working day and night in the middle of life threatening conditions and they were widely called as soldiers in this battle. On this Independence Day, we owe them a big salute.

This situation also gave us an opportunity to understand the value of our soldiers and farmers. We realized the importance of the motto “Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan”. They were serving us throughout these periods for the benefit our nation and people while most of us were staying home safely. We should never forget to thank them for their efforts even when we go back to our normal lives.

With the hope that we will overcome this difficult situation together and learn our lessons from it, I wish all my friends a happy Independence Day. Let's salute our great nation with gratitude and pride!
