The princess of Ramananthapuram,
Princess Velu Nachiyar!

The brave queen destined for much more,
Who knew that she would soar!

She was her parents’ only heir,
For the people of her land she really did care!

The ‘Veeramangai‘of the people,
She who was destined to fight for her land,
She who respected the sands of her land!

The brave princess of Ramananthapuram,
Has surely made her mark,
And has done her part,
To be a true daughter for her motherland!

Trained in war weaponry, archery and horse riding!

To perfection she kept aiming!

She was proficient in many languages and arts,
As a brave daughter of her land,
The fight for freedom she then starts!

Her mind was filled with zeal for her land,
Zeal for her country, her people and her sand!

Although she was a princess and master of all arts,
She had a very humble state at heart!

The first queen was she,
To fight for her people and to fight for her land!

She was zealous to set her land free!

As figure of bravery and respect,
She will always stand!

As a true daughter of her country and her land…
