Out Of All The Humans That Lived On This Earth, Over Half Of Died To Malaria. Malaria Has Taken Millions Of Lives But An Indian Scientist By The Name Of Manu Prakash Has Made A Huge Fight Against Malaria. Manu Prakash Was Born In Meerut,India And When He Was A Child , He Had A Fascinating Intrigue About Science Instruments And Later On , Went To IIT And Stanford University As A Professor Of Bioengineering.

His Inventions Such As The Paperfuge And The Foldscope Are What Lets Poorer Communities Diagnose Malaria For 53 Rupees (.71 Dollars) .
The Foldscope As Shown Above, Is .51 Dollar Origami Microsope That Lets People Diagnose Malaria At Cheap Prices

This Paper Centrifuge Which Is Portable And Requires No Electricity Spins Faster Than A 10,000 Dollar Centrifuge. This Was Based On A Children’s Toy Which The Scientists At MIT Including Manu And

This Is A Village Diagnosing Malaria With The Paperfuge And The Foldscope.

It Is Unbelievable That So Many People Are Being Saved By These Two Inventions But They Are!

He Makes Inventions Like These Under A Term Called “Frugal Science” So That Poor Villages All Over The World Have Access To The Best And Cheap Way To Diagnose Malaria. When I First Saw This, I Felt Proud That India Has People Like Him All Over The World Making Humanity A Better Place, One By One. We , Indians Are Proud To Have Him As A Indian . We Should All Strive To Be This Way . Over Half Of The World Lives On Less Than 5 Dollars And 734 Million People Live On Less Than 2 Dollars, So It Is Important That These Revolutionary Pieces Of Technology Are In The Hands Of People Who Need It. This Is Another Big Step Humanity Has Taken To Fight Malaria.

With These Two Inventions, The Poorest In The World Are Given A Chance To Be Diagnosed And Helped . Scientists Like Him Are The Reason Why India’s Success Has Grown.
