Bhavans IES Felicitates the Achievers of Academic Session 2020-21

Bhavans Indian Education School, Kuwait remains a leading centre of excellence for not only promoting the holistic development of its students but also for recognizing and honouring them in a befitting manner for all their stupendous achievements. IES grandly held the Achievers’ Day, on its virtual platform on October 9, 2021, felicitating the students for their academic brilliance and achievements.

The prestigious celebration unfurled at 9.30 a.m. with the recitation of a few verses from the Holy Quran by Sahal Ansar of grade 11 followed by the national anthem of Kuwait and the virtual lighting of the lamp ceremony by the chief guest, chairman, Bhavans Middle East, and the principal of IES. The melodious prayer song by Irene Mariya Joby of grade 12 and the Bhavans anthem by the Student Parliament were soon followed by a congenial welcome address delivered by Ms. Asha Ebey Samuel, Head of the Department, Computer Science. The welcome dance by Bhavyashri Madhuraj of grade 7 added colour to the jubilant celebration. Ms. Sindhu Ashok, Head of the Department, Biology, introduced the Chief Guest CA Paavithra Sridhar, an alumna of IES and a qualified chartered accountant currently employed in a tech product company named Odessa Inc. as a finance analyst, to the virtual audience. The Chief Guest, in her address, congratulated the holders of various positions for their commendable achievements in varied domains and stressed the need to introspect and discover the true essence of happiness in one’s pursuit of success, and she also urged the Bhavanites to follow the path of one’s passion with determination and diligence.

The celebration of achievements reached a crescendo when the all-rounders and scholars of the academic year 2020-2021, from the Primary, Middle and Senior sections, were exalted for their excellence, and the awards for proficiency were conferred on them. It was indeed a gratifying moment for the awardees as the ceremony was graced by the presence of Mr. N.K. Ramachandran Menon, Chairman, Bhavans Middle East, Mr. T. Premkumar, Principal, IES, Ms. Anselma Tessy Judeson, Vice Principal, Senior Wing, Ms. Meenakshi Nayyar, Vice Principal, Middle Wing and Ms. Lalitha Premkumar, Vice Principal, Primary and Kindergarten, the teaching fraternity of IES and the parents of the prize winners. The management, the parents and the staff extolled the winners for making the school proud with their untiring efforts that demonstrated their academic excellence. The encouragement and appreciation of one and all vividly evoked a feeling of great pride in the achievers. ‘The Achievers’ Day’ is a testimony to the earnest endeavours of Bhavans, proving once again the pandemic has no way dampened the indomitable spirits of Bhavanites.

Undoubtedly, the achievements of the prize winners will act as a catalyst for attaining academic brilliance and a major source of inspiration for their fellow students who will leave their trails too in the realm of success in the days to come. Ms. Ann Bindhia Peter, Head of the Department, Social Science, Middle Wing, proposed the vote of thanks. The emcee for the day was Ms. Athira Pratap, the Subject Coordinator, Department of English. The glittering ceremony ended with the singing of the Indian national anthem.
