Kollam Jilla Pravasi Samajam and BDK Jointly organized Blood Donation to mark India’s 75th Independence Day.

A great initiative to organise a voluntary blood donation camp was taken by Kollam Jilla Pravasi Samajam (KJPS), a renowned socio-welfare organisation in Kuwait, on Friday, August 13, 2021, from 9 am to 1 pm at the Jabriya Blood Bank. The blood donation drive was conducted in collaboration with Blood Donors Kerala, Kuwait Chapter and with the help of Badr Al Sama Medical Center, Kuwait. The camp was organised in connection with the 75th Anniversary of Indian Independence, the 60th year of establishing diplomatic ties between India & Kuwait and Onam, the official state festival of Kerala.

The blood donation drive by KJPS was earmarked for a greater purpose to promote the voluntary blood donation activities in Kuwait and has succeeded in the same by arranging around 100 donors from various parts of Kuwait.

The camp was inaugurated by the First Secretary of the Indian Embassy Kuwait, Kamal Singh Rathore, in a formal event presided by the President of KJPS, Salim Raj. KJPS & BDK representatives, namely Alex Mathew (General Secretary, KJPS), Thampy Lukose ( Treasurer, KJPS), Aniyankunju Pappachan Manoj Mavelikara BDK and Rajan Thottathil BDK, have felicitated in the inaugural function. Jithin Jose from BDK has welcomed the participants, and Jayan Sadasivan from KJPS has presented the vote of thanks.

On behalf of KJPS, the First Secretary of the Indian Embassy, Kamal Singh Rathore, has received a token of appreciation from BDK and presented it to Salim Raj, KJPS. The camp was proficiently organised by Dr Subu Thomas (Vice President, KJPS), Pramil Prabhakaran, Varghese Vaidyan (Secretaries, KJPS), Salil Varma (Joint Treasurer, KJPS), Sajimon, Sajeev Kumar, Niyas (Unit Conveners, KJPS), Baiju Midhunam, Titto, Joy, Rinil (Unit Coordinators, KJPS), Yamuna Reghubal, Jolly, Beena, Martin, Freddy, Muneer, Noufal, Joby, Deepu Chandran and Nalinakshan (BDK Volunteers) following all the mandatory covid-19 protocols given by the MOI, Kuwait and blood bank authorities.
