Ministry increases Maternity charges for expatriates

The Minister of Health, Sheikh Dr. Basil Al-Sabah, issued a decision to increase the fees for maternity services for expatriates at the Ministry of health.

According to Al Rai media report, the new fee will be in force starting from today, October 9th. According to this, the non-Kuwaiti patients enrolled in the health insurance will be charged KD 100 for normal delivery and 150KD in case of cesarean.

The new decision also increased the daily charges for the private room to 100 dinars per day, an increase of 100 percent.

Al-Rai daily reported that the decision to increase maternity fees for expatriates was issued after a careful study that took into account the high cost of health service from medical staff and equipment, and also took into account the vast difference in maternity fees between the public and private sectors.

PEOPLES EARNING DECENT SALARY ABOVE 500 KD FOR THEM NO PROBLEM BUT THINK THERE ARE SOME COME COUPLES EARNING LESS THAN KD 500 FOR THEM IT IS A BIG BURDEN, BECAUSE IT IS NOT ONLY MATERNITY, RENT, SCHOOL FEES, MONTHLY EXPENSES AND TRANSPORT FOR THEM IT IS DIFFICULT . AS KUWAIT RICH COUNTRY IF YOU SPEND SOME MONEY FOR EXPRIATES WHO IS HELPING BUILDING KUWAIT WHAT THEY WILL LOOSE. I STAYED 35 YEARS IN KUWAIT THAT TIME THE CONDITIONS WAS NOT LIKE TODAY KUWAIT IS FACING SO IF YOU CAN AFFORD TO STAY BE THERE DONT COMPLAIN AS LIFE WILL BE MORE MISERABLE IF YOU RETURN TO YOUR COUNTRY. GOD BLESS kUWAIT.

Expats want all advantages, but when some fees is increased they start crying and saying better facilities in home country.
so that means you were having baby birth in Kuwait only because it was cheap, even though facilities were not good???
Means you were playing with life of your about to be born baby just to save money???
Good that Kuwait government has made these rule, to stop years of abuse by expats. now only genuine cases will be entertained

some expats were abusing health benefits which compelled to increase fee to ease burden of medical expenses. although increase price is like peanut compare to private hospitals. so guys chill and make use of health facilities in a proper way and become a contributor rather dependant.

before I am in India, people saying Maternity charges in Kuwait only two KD. and luxurious facility in hospital, that time forget, my dear friend people need every thing free, but they know their own country nothing is free, for normal delivery need to pay double then case of cesarean may be four times, that they know,
one more this this country electricity is nearly free, and I seen some area , specially shop people lighting out board plenty of light even full night after shop close lighting blowing this is called abuse''s, or misused power,
before few people bringing their old parent to make heart surgery because that time free, that facility few people, now what happen needy people to make suffer.
so any misused is directly suffering needy people.
I seen some county, rich people donating equipment''s ,to help poor people, so poor people will get benefit

Children are gift from GOD. This is the only place in the world seeing them as burden. Especially by certain MPs.

Dear all,

I think its better services aboard. After all , who cares if the baby is born in Kuwait or aboard. More over charges on bringing parents to Kuwait to look after. No head ache , let them hike it thats only they can do , they cant force any to give birth in Kuwait to pay it,,, hahaha...
We get better services aboard.

Good decision indeed but what exactly they want, they should through expat directly if they don''t require their services. It''s inhuman that they want to squeeze the expats and impose many taxes on expats.
