Kuwait Airways eighth in punctuality among 175 airlines

Kuwait Airways ranked eighth in punctuality among 175 international airlines, according to a report by the British aviation company (OAG), which is specialized in checking the productive performance of the civil aviation sectors.

“We are honored by the latest report issued by the world’s most credible agencies in evaluating the performance of airports and airlines in the world,” Chairman of Kuwait Airways Board of Directors, Yousef Al-Jassem, said in a press release Thursday.

Al-Jassem pointed out that the results of the report showed that the rate of the punctuality of Kuwait Airways was 88 percent in July.

He noted that being the eighth place among the 175 major international airlines affirms the good application of time-bound policies adopted by the board of directors and implemented by the executive management efficiently and professionally.

Congratulation to Kuwait Airways Staff and Management.

I am frequent visiting to Mumbai OR Delhi by Kuwait Airways and observe that most of the time flight is on time.

All the best....

@xpat, things have changed a lot since the new airport has come up.
KU is pretty insignificant compared to other players but anyday betrer than AI. Give its due where it deserves, it serves the purpose and nowadays is usually on time.

@Vivek Shah, it was on June 7th 2018 Kochi flight. This was my first & last experience with Kuwait Airways T1 Terminal Kuwait International Airport. You can check with the other passengers who boarded on this day if you can find them, they will tell you whole story.

I traveled to Bombay on 12 June 2019. The flight was late. However the flight reached the runway and waited there for 1 hour and returned to tarmac stating technical reasons. All passengers were deboarded and headed to immigration to allow passengers'' entry in Kuwait. All passengers were informed that the flight will now depart next day. Light snack boxes were handed over to passengers that also upon protest. There was no hotel arrangement for the passengers (KA officials said that you have home in Kuwait so go and sleep in home). KA official informed that some compensation will be given next day when passengers come to board the flight. However only boarding pass was given and passengers were told to proceed to aircraft else they will miss the flight. A blatant lie by KA. I don''t know how the visit visa passengers were handled as they can not enter Kuwait once the visit visa is over. How they managed to stay at the airport for 24 hours? There was a big mess and several passengers'' onward program got affected. When I called the customer care no. only apology was given.

I have been travelling by KA since I came to Kuwait but such mess I never ever witnessed. Very irresponsible attitude towards passengers.

@Rex
The total traveling time between Thiruvananthapuram & Kuwait is 4 hours and 30 minutes. However, Kuwait Airways & other airlines increased this to minimum 1 hour from last one year or more.
This trick is adapted by each and every other airline around the world, to "Adjust" the delays & thus maintaining the punctuality. Read more about it online. I am a frequent flyer between TVM & Kuwait & was NOT really surprised when we reached Kuwait last time "1 hour" early :)
Yet, 99% of my experiences with Kuwait Airways were always good & all I wish that there are more Airlines providing direct flights to TVM from Kuwait.

No wonder Kuwait Airways got the 8th place in punctuality. Last year in June 2018 while I traveled with my family in Kuwait Airways to Kochi for vacation, after we boarded the flight and waited nearly more than an hour in the aircraft, the pilot''s announcement came saying "due to a technical problem, all the passengers are requested to go back to the airport and wait to board another aircraft", we all returned to the airport and were given a transit boarding pass and waited for another half-hour to board the next flight. Previously, to this incident there were numerous delays with Kuwait Airways reported, but I didn''t believe. Now when I faced the reality, I decided not to travel by Kuwait Airways with my family.

Which year is this?

For OAG report (checked online) for the year 2018, it does not have Kuwait Airways listed.

Exactly. I am a frequent flyer of Kuwait Airways. I take my annual vacation with my family on Kuwait Airways to kochi. The most important advantage for passengers is timing and reaching the time on destination. I found that even if kuwait airways departs late (by 30 to 40 minutes) they reaches the destination on time. Without late. That is puntuality. I m proud to be a frequent flyer of Kuwait Airways
