Bhavans Organizes Investiture In The Most Impressive Fashion

Jleeb, May 02, 2019: Indian Educational School (Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan) in a superiorly impressive fashion, invested the insignia of authority with 17 elected members of the ‘Supreme Council’ of the school along with prefects, house captains, vice captains, junior captains and

‘blossoms.’ The propitious occasion was graced by the Chief Guest, Her Excellency Samargiul Adamkulova, the ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to Kuwait and Guest of honour was Mr. Reaven D’ Souza, the managing director of Times Kuwait.

The investiture of the academic year 2019-20 was elegantly conducted in the school auditorium with all pomp and grandeur. The programme commenced with the recital of a few verses from the Holy Quran, followed by the singing of the Kuwait National Anthem and the prayer song by the school choir. The ceremony was attended by the worthy parents of the Supreme Council, the teachers and the students of classes 11 and 12. It was a proud moment for all the parents to witness their children being invested with great responsibilities all set to embark on a new journey as leaders.

The inspiring presence of the chief guest- a woman of great calibre and conviction warmed the cockles of the heart of the august gathering. BSS cadets and the student council saluted the chief guest as she walked on the red carpet and was escorted to the auditorium by Mr. T. Premkumar, the principal, Mrs. Anselma Tessy, the senior vice principal, Mrs. Jaemi Byju, the vice principal, middle wing, Mrs. Lalitha Premkumar, the vice principal, primary and Mrs. Meenakshi Nayyar, the vice principal, CCA. It was a feast for the eyes of the beholders as the Student Supreme Council marched to the auditorium in sync with the band music swinging their arms in style and decorum. The Bhavanites welcomed the chief guest with a standing ovation. A video presentation of the life and achievements of the veritably venerable Her Excellency Samargiul Adamkulova was played in the auditorium while verbal bouquets of welcome were being presented to her.

In the implementation of accession, bestowing badges and sashes of honour to the newly sworn-in student council headed by the Head Boy (Daniel Thomas Koleth, 11 A), the Head Girl (Liana Maria Joseph, 11 A) the Junior Head Boy (Enoch Sam Abraham, Grade 4 I) the Junior Head Girl (Prisha Prabhakar, Grade 4 I), the Deputy Head Boy (Dave Rino, 9G), the Deputy Head Girl (Farah Noorjahan Sahim, 9C), the Cultural Secretaries, the Deputy Cultural Secretaries, the Sports Captain, the Deputy Sports Captains, the Public Relation Officers, and the Student Editor was executed by the chief guest Her Excellency Samrgiul Adamkulova, along with the principal, Mr. T. Premkumar amidst an appreciating audience. The house Captains of Satya, Seva, Sanskriti and Tapas also received their flags and badges from the Chief Guest. The vice house captains, the prefects, and blossoms received their badges from the vice principals, the house masters, and the HoDs.

The newly elected Student Council pledged their devotion to the institution by taking the oath of office administered by the principal, Mr. T. Premkumar. The newly sworn-in head girl and the head boy delivered their acceptance speeches that proudly paraded their willingness and enthusiasm to discharge their duties with hundred percent dedication, dignity, loyalty, and discipline. The head boy in his speech said, “Leadership is the capacity to influence others through inspiration motivated by passion, generated by vision, produced by a conviction, ignited by a purpose.”

The chief guest in her address to the audience, extolled the students for the smooth conduct of the programme under the able guidance of their dynamic principal. She was in awe of the democratic e voting and eulogised the efforts of the school for instilling the sense of democracy in the students through a transparent voting system. She extended her sincere gratitude for the warm welcome given to her. She said, “The warm welcome and the meticulous arrangements of the event permeate explicitly the culture and standard of the school far and wide.” She reminded the office bearers to be role models and render their responsibilities sincerely with compassion, respect and integrity. She reminded the students as they are the nation-builders and torch bearers of tomorrow to inculcate values of punctuality, dedication, discipline and determination. She also spoke about the need to preserve the environment in general and in particular about ‘the project white leopard conservation.’

The principal, IES, presented a memento, as a token of reverence and gratitude to the chief guest. As a token of appreciation, Madam Samargiul also presented a souvenir, a handicraft that showcases the glorious culture of her country to the principal of IES.

Malavika Krishna of grade11 delivered the welcome speech and Aaliya Sageer, the former head girl proposed the vote of thanks. The emcees of the day were Jayden Daniel of grade 10 and Sana Nazim Parkar of grade 11. The inspiring investiture of the academic year 2019-2020 came to a solemn end with the singing of the Indian National Anthem.
