Indian embassy warns against fraudulent calls

The Indian Embassy in Kuwait has issued a warning on its website advising Indians not to respond to calls requesting personal information and money.

The warning was posted on the embassy’s site after a number of Indian nationals, were complained about calls posing as Embassy officials, with a view to extracting money.

"It has been brought to the attention of the Embassy of India that unscrupulous individuals are telephoning Indian nationals, posing as Embassy officials, with a view to extracting money. These individuals may also sometimes provide certain personal particulars to make their claims sound convincing.

All Indian nationals in Kuwait are hereby informed that the Embassy of India never requests for any such payments/money transfers, nor for your bank details, nor for money transfers through telephone calls or through unauthorized means, nor will ask for your banking credentials/credit card details etc.

Established processes and procedures are in place i.r.o. various services provided by the Embassy, which are clearly laid out on the Embassy’s official website. All concerned are therefore requested to exercise caution and not to fall prey to any fraudulent attempts," the message says.

hi all,
Today 18/9/2019, I received a call from Indian Embassy(Kuwait) landline number 22530612. That i had made a mistake in filling date of birth in the immigration form in India at that time of 2017 traveling. So as per his conversation, that Indian government as registered the case against me and have to leave the country(Kuwait) due to that. And he disclosed all my immigration details clearly until now. Once i replied that the phone conversation is recording and the same time he cut the call.

So be aware and don''t disclose any bank details.

How they has hacked most of our information?

Today 22 Aug 2019. somebody called me saying calling from Indian Embassy and the number displayed is Indian Embassy 225302612 saying that i have made mistake in filling the Immigration form in 2017 and you have a case against you he was having all the information when i traveled i dont know how he got all the information and i hang up in between.

All Indians please be cautious.

Hi Friends,

I got clarification from Indian embassy that it was a fake call, now the scammers are doing this type of fraud don''t answer these type of calls
Embassy told me if there is any problem with the immigration or any type of issues related to embassy they will ask us to contact Indian Embassy personally. don''t disclose any information on Phone.
This is for information which i have shared for awareness.

Today I got a call from Indian Embassy ( DISPLAYING INDIAN EMBASSY,KUWAIT) saying that they want some inquiry related to immigration.

But a small question, how these scammers got these kind of personal information? It is important to check whether these information are leaking with the help of internal staffs for the monetary benefit.
