7th Islamic Students Conference concludes successfully

The 7th annual Islamic Students Conference (ISCON), organized by Kuwait Kerala Islahi Center (KKIC) at Masjidul Kabeer held on December 28th and 29th came to a conclusion on Saturday. Themed ‘Knowledge for Peace’, the conference was inaugurated by the Undersecretary of Kuwait’s Awqaf Ministry, Mohammad Nasser Al Mutairi and addressed a wide range of topics relevant to the youth. The programs in conference were conducted at multiple venues starting from 8.30 am to 3 pm.

Eng. Mohammad Ajmal

Addressing the students, the Executive Member of Islamic Students Organization, Eng. Mohammad Ajmal said that in the age of technological advancement, Quran continues to amaze human minds with its linguistic excellence, scientific facts, historical accuracy and fulfilled prophecies.

Further he noted, “In addition to asserting its divine origins, the Quran thrown an open challenge to mankind to produce anything like it, which has gone uncontested for over 1400 years. The speaker was presenting the case for the scripture’s divine authorship.

PN Abdurahman

While enjoying the utilities of the modern world, one must also be mindful of our creator and strive to internalize His message to attain success in both worlds. This was at the heart of a talk titled ‘Let’s Know Our Creator’ rendered by Kuwait University Research Student, P.N. Abdurahman Abdul Lateef.

Dr. Jawhar Munawwar

In a lecture on the topic ‘Direction for Youth’, noted speaker Dr Jawhar Munawwar of Faruk College, Calicut, emphasized the need for having a direction in life and cited examples of the immense possibilities in the modern age. He further explained that the ultimate aim of life is the success in the hereafter and that one must strive the utmost towards earning rewards for that life.

Sirajul Islam Balussery

Parents are the most deserving of our love and respect next to the creator, stated noted speaker from UAE Jaliyath, Hafiz Sirajul Islam Balussery. He reminded the audience by quoting a hadith of the prophet (PBUH) that the love of Allah is premised on the love of parents and likewise His wrath. The speaker was talking on the topic ‘Offering Love to Treasures of Love’.

Abdulsalam Swalahi

Emphasizing the reality of death and its inevitability, Abdusalam Swalahi addressed the students on the topic ‘Shores of Realization’. He exhorted the students on the importance of striving for the life after death, “which is the ultimate goal of life on Earth.”

Dr Mufasila

Addressing the female students, Dr Mufasila stated that we must seek the route to success by praying for beneficial knowledge and the use of modern technology. She encouraged the students to strive in the field of science and technology by pursuing higher education while adhering to the principles of Islam. She was tackling the topic ‘Path to Success’ in a session held exclusively for girls.

Latheefa Adwani

Islam is a religion of peace and by following its tenets and by maintaining purity in the worship of Allah, we can attain closeness with our creator, noted Latheefa Adwani, lecturer at Kuwait University. She was rendering a talk on ‘Fiqhul Ibada’ at the girls’ session.

At the session held exclusively for boys, Dr Yasir and Sunash Shukoor conducted talks under the supervision of Camp Director Mohammad Aslam Kappad.

Saju Chemmad organized various activities for the boys. Ahzab Abdul Jaleel presented Halawathul Quran. Fahim, Farhan, Adeeb, Shahzad, Bahij and Sahal rendered a welcome song to the conference.

Dr. Nesla and Saneeya teacher oversaw the girls session, in which Lamya and Israh recited the Quran, while Ameena, Shahima, Fathima, Niha, Nafiya and Huda rendered the ISCON welcome song.

The conference concluded with vote of thanks offered by Abdul Jaleel Tharayil, Vice Chairman, Organizing Committee.
