Safety measures while bursting crackers

Tuesday, November 10, 2020

Diwali is one of the most popular festival of Hindus which is celebrated with delight. It is an important Indian festival which is also known as the festival of lights. This year it is celebrated on the 14th of November. During this festival people light up and decorate their houses with diya’s, lantern and flowers. People visit each other houses during this festival and have a good time. This festival brings prosperity and joy.

Bursting of crackers is widely done all over the country. It is a ritual that has been observed during Diwali for a long time. However fire crackers can be dangerous when not handled properly and can cause serious injury. Therefore it is important to take certain measures and precautions while bursting crackers. Firstly crackers must be stored in a safe place where they do not catch fire. They must be stored in sealed containers which are not combustive, as fire crackers are highly combustive. Secondly we must wear cotton clothes or clothes which do not catch fire easily like Denim and Khadi. Clothes made of silk, nylon and polyester catch fire easily. Avoid bursting crackers in a small area which is densely populated as it can result in the loss of life and property. Sparks from crackers can start fire leading to a lot of issues. Therefore we must keep in mind to burst crackers in an open area. Having a first aid kit in handy would be very useful in case of any burns caused by crackers.

The safest way to enjoy fire crackers is to light them carefully. Keeping in mind the safety precautions before you start bursting fire crackers on Diwali. The use of green fire crackers with reduced emission has been introduced by the supreme court in order to decreased the levels of air pollution as the gases emitted by fire crackers increases the risk of respiratory problems and skin allergies. Children must be under high supervision while bursting crackers to ensure safety.

By following the above precautions we can have a safe and joyous Diwali with our loved ones.
