Safety Measures while bursting Crackers

Monday, October 28, 2024

Diwali, known as the Festival of Lights, is a time of happiness and festivities with colourful decorations, own family get-togethers, and firecrackers. While bursting firecrackers provides fun to the celebrations, it also brings dangers of injuries. To have a secure and fun Diwali, it's essential to follow specific protection steps while lighting firecrackers.

The pleasing sound without noise wouldn't mind right?”

Here are some important suggestions highlighting major safety precautions you need to take while enjoying fireworks to have a blast with crackers but at the same time remain safe:

•Children should burst crackers only under strict supervision from adults.
•Cracker bursting should be done outdoors in open grounds and not in dry grassy or wooded areas. The area should be free from buildings, trees and other inflammables. Parks and empty grounds are the best places. Do no use narrow lanes or enclosures, where the bursting of crackers can explode into a hazard with cracker splinters flying all over.
•Never light firecrackers when barefoot, wear sturdy footwear for protection
•Burst crackers one at a time and move back quickly
•Never experiment by mixing two firecrackers together
•All necessary dry sand, fire extinguisher and water arrangements must be kept handy for emergencies like fires or injuries.
•Keep pets indoors as they may get scared or run away due to loud sounds.
•Light sparklers/crackers carefully one at a time making sure no part of your body comes on top of it while lighting the same. After lighting keep enough distance between your face/hair/others face/hairs etc. which might come accidentally on top.
•Make sure to throw away any used or partially burnt crackers by soaking them in water first before putting them in the trash.

When firecrackers explode, they release harmful substances that can have lasting effects on our planet and well-being.

Firecrackers can make celebrations more fun, but we need to consider their bigger effects. The environmental and health issues caused by firecrackers highlight the importance of being more careful and responsible. As we celebrate, we should find ways to enjoy the festivities without hurting our planet or ourselves. By choosing safer and more eco-friendly options, we can keep the joy of our celebrations while protecting the environment for future generations. The excitement they bring comes with a high cost to our environment and health.

While I too enjoy bursting crackers and playing with sparklers, I also remember that we are an environment friendly family and we shouldn’t be doing anything that is going to harm our nature or body. Diwali festival can only be enjoyed if you celebrate it the right way with cautions.

Happy Diwali to all!!
