Indians outside India known as the Indian diaspora maintain close ties with the motherland, they uphold the traditions, values, rituals, festivals and the great Indian culture, which makes others feel the unity in diversity, no other people outside their country can boast of such versatile ways of celebrating life as we do, we proclaim to the world that we may speak 100 different languages, we may wear a saree in 100 different ways and we may cook a potato in 100 different ways but we stand united when it comes to upholding culture and celebration festivals, the way we celebrate Diwali, festival of lights makes the total world effulgent.

It is a common tradition to exchange gifts between friends and relatives during Diwali, sweets are inevitable part of this festival celebration, It varies from traditional sweets Gulab jamun, Ladoo etc to the modern candies, wearing new clothes, bursting of crackers and traditional dance parties are nostalgic memories for children year after year.

Diwali a festival celebrated to establish the victory of good over evil or lights over darkness, it cannot be completed without lighting the diyas (the lamps), decorating the houses with handicrafts, gatherings of relatives, friends and sharing the golden memories they cherish about the celebration in motherland energize the Indian community to work more harder and the country and its people proud of the diaspora.
Year after year mixing of new values and culture with the tradition makes celebrations brighter. Let this Diwali wash out all the pain and sorrows, let this Diwali bring all the happiness, prosperity and make the world a peaceful place for all the people, let this Diwali bring all enlightenment, happiness and prosperity to people all around the world.

Let us light a lamp of love, shoot a rocket of prosperity, fire a flower pot of happiness and draw a rangoli of hope.
