Golden Egaila beach!

I just couldn’t think of any other better title sitting on this sandy beach. Egaila is not like a never-before-revealed place, but who said there is no Californian beach in Kuwait? ‘Appealing’ is everything. Crowded Egaila affords everything for a BBQ Picnic and for a small park- it has both modern and quaint conveniences to offer. The place is owned and manicured by T.E.C at ‘Fintas Block1’ on the sea coast. Don’t get me wrong. It’s not the best place in summer, but graceful in the fall. My love for this beach evolved when we had our kid’s b’day party here few years back. I loved this vibrant place. A cracking place for Filipinos and expat Arabs, just 6 kms away from Kuwait Magic, Abu-halifa.

Entry ticket is ½ KD / person and Swimming pool, if opted is another half KD except during festivals. Open from 8 AM until 10 PM. Contact phone is 23900538. The 7th Ring road ends at Road 30 to become ‘coastal road 209’. The resort is on the Road 209, on the left of ‘Safir Hotel’. Roads 102 & 210 end and meet the coastal road 209. The Swimming pool is frequented by Locals and expats. A Guinness record was set here in 2008, for the longest sea food barbecue. (350m). Oops, how did I miss to see and taste that BBQ?

The resort has clean cut and shaped gardens. Palms and the Conocarpe trees provide the shade and greenery for the park. Conocarpe grows to any shape and apparently became the ‘Plant of the Kuwait soil’. If you are little more daring, you can have a superb swim on this beach. Use only supervised swimming area with beach guards. The beach is not sandy like Al-Zour but with pebbles and slippery algae. Swimmers have to take care of the the stones underfoot. Mild waves, but know the water currents if you wish to swim deep. Walk, Swim, Cycle and Eat - you get them all. Birds and ^meows^ get personal with you under the trees. Share them your Nacho cheese and they pose cute while you photo-walk them. The place has a cafeteria with snacks and Burgers. Do not forget to keep the playing Kids within your eye’s radius. But let them play and breathe fresh air.

Enter the park by 9 AM to choose a suitable spot under the tree shades and hold your chairs. There is nothing more magical than eating leisurely on the beach with a food plate and watching the cool, calming effect of the blue sea. Spend the time ‘s_l_o_w_l_y’ and start getting the best of you. Take your mind off from the routine issues of the daily life. Walk around, the aroma of Arabic coffee and the kebab BBQ’s mixed with clean air will smell heavenly. Hey kids! Play in the sand, dig in to find the water table and make your arts on the wet powdery fine sand. Collapse into your favourite books. You can hear the low rumble of the waves just 50 yards off with mellow ‘feng shui’ vibrations.

Finish relaxing and walk to the end of the piano wooden bridge where angle fishing is going on. Don’t stand close to anglers while they whirl fishing hooks into the water. ‘Sea-facing buildings’ are awesome from this horizon and the people living there are gifted. Rest rooms and showers are available. Youth are busy playing volley-ball. But no one is really in a hurry to get anywhere. As for the negative things, Car parking

will be difficult in the evening. In that case, park outside on the streets in safe areas. Pack your stuff or order Food by phone to be delivered inside the Park from nearby restaurants. Mmm..Your Friday destination is already set. Have Cheer ‘n Fun.!!! Bye.
