Intensive security campaign during the holy month of Ramadan

The Ministry of Interior started implementing its security plan during the holy month of Ramadan to secure mosques, places of worship and markets.

About 100 patrols and 200 military personnel will be deployed across the 66 mosques, where crowd will be present during the holy month, local Arabic daily Al-Ray reported quoting Assistant Undersecretary for the Public Security Sector, Major General Abdullah Al-Rajaib. The security patrolling will be increased during the last 10 days of Ramadan, he said.

Officials had given a clear instructions not to compromise the security of the country and the safety of citizens and residents especially when the mosques and commercial complexes witness the influx of large numbers of people during this time.

Any expatriates caught violating the law, specially the street vendors and beggars, will face firm legal measures and will be deported from the country, he added.
