Indian community in Kuwait celebrated Independence Day

Despite the humid and hot weather, large number of Indians from all walks of life gathered at the Embassy premise to celebrate the Independence Day.

The 77th Independence Day was celebrated by unfurling of the tri-colour National Flag by Ambassador H E Dr Adarsh Swaika, followed by the singing of the National Anthem and the reading out of the Hon’ble President’s Address to the Nation. The event started by garlanding the Mahatma Gandhi Statue by the Ambassador.

In his address, Ambassador thanked the leadership and Government of the friendly State of Kuwait for the continued support in further deepening and strengthening of India-Kuwait bilateral relations and for taking special care of the Indian Community in Kuwait. He wished Independence Day greetings to the community members who participated in large number despite the harsh weather. Embassy is open to all Indian nationals who seek any assistance. He also thanked all the community organisations for all their assistance they are giving to the fellow members in Kuwait and back home in India. "We are constantly working on the matters such as Engineers issue and Family visa with the authorities," he said.

Later Ambassador interacted with the community members and greeted them on the happy occasion.
