Toastmasters Club Officers Training held on 21st June 2019

District 20 Toastmasters Leaders Institute (TLI) conducted Club Officers Training- Summer (COT) on 21 June 2019 at SIMS, Salmiya. Club officers from Divisions E, F G and H have attended.

It is the first training session conducted under the new district officer elects 2019-20, District 20 Director DTM Wafaa Salman, Program Quality Director DTM Mohammed Saleem and Club Growth Director DTM Alka Kumra. Around 170 members attended the event.



The event was conducted in an elaborate manner with workshops on “Building up a Team” by DTM Dr. Mohammed Makhlouf (Immediate Past District 20 Director) and “Distinguished Club Program and Club Success Plan” by DTM Anilkumar G. Revanker. District 20 Director (elect) DTM Wafaa Salman inspired the future leaders with her mission and vision.



Senior toastmasters, who has proved their credentials through various leadership activities, trained the newly elected Club Officers. The Officers for a toastmasters Club are: President, Vice-president Education, Vice-president Membership, Vice-president Public Relations, Treasurer, Secretary and Sergeant at Arms. The trainers for each category of officers were DTM Dr. Fatma Abdu (Division F Director – Elect), TM Cajetan Barretto (Area 21 Director elect), TM Xavier Yesudas, DTM Areej Jaffer, DTM Christy Kulathooran (District Finance Manager - elect), TM Priscilla Dias and TM Murali Manohar (Division E Director – elect) respectively. DTM Ramkumar (Division E director) and TM Dr. Shanta Maria James (Division H Director – elect) graced the occasion with their presence.



Sergeant At Arms TM Raj Dhanasekharan opened the meeting and Master of Ceremonies TM Faisal Jameel (Area 28 Director elect) conducted the proceedings in a splendid way. District 20 TLI Chair TM Heba Mahmoud welcomed everyone to the event and Event Host DTM Dr. Fatma Abdo acknowledged the role players and trainers. Event Chair TM Sindumol Thomas concluded the meeting with vote of thanks. Other role players were, TM Aji George Panicker, TM Aldous Palakkan, TM Syed Hussain, TM Latif Mansoor Ali, TM Bessy Mathai and TM Hazem Ibrahim. TM Sunil Thomas and TM Raymond Pereira handled the Public Relation, Online Registration and Marketing of the event.



Toastmasters International is a nonprofit organization, which offers a platform to fine tune public speaking and leadership skills. It has a well-organized curriculum to train members mostly by practice rather than theory. The meetings are conducted twice in a month for two hours. Once the extensive program is completed successfully, the member will be awarded the title Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM). In Kuwait, there are 38 English Speaking Clubs and 30 Arabic Clubs.
