Expatriates, who have a valid residency sticker on their Passport before 10/03/2019 can travel out of Kuwait without carrying the Civil ID Card, Ministry of Interior, clarified.

MoI officials denied a video clip on social media, alleging that residents could not travel without a civil ID card. Authorities clarified that the information on the video circulating on social networks are false and inaccurate.

Any resident who has a valid residency before the ministerial decision 135/2019 issued on 10/3/2019 can travel by presenting the residency page on the passport.

However, those who got a residency on or after 10/3/2019, or transferred data from an old passport to a new one after this date, are obliged to present the Civil ID card upon travelling, where the Latin first and surname must be compatible with the names in the passport. His / Her Nationality also must be compatible with the one mentioned in the Civil ID card, along with the correct passport number, authorities clarified in a press statement.
