Teacher's Orientation Program held at SIMS

Teachers can change lives with just right mix of chalk and challenges

Teachers have the ability to inspire, empower and foster environments of self confidence,passion and nurture the life of the students. Orientations encourage teachers and contribute to more effective and productive teaching learning practices. At Salmiya Indian Model School an Orientation program was organized for the teachers on 25th of March 2019 with the aim of discussing the key areas of challenge, support, discipline and class management.

SIMS Principal Ms. Anita Sadanand through her Power Point Presentation reinforced the Key indicators of a teacher’s performance.-Discipline, time management,teaching techniques , utilisation of homeroom period&substitution period, maintenance of records etc were discussed in detail. The role of starter activity and HoT (High Order Thinking ) questions were highlighted in making the lessons more effective in the classrooms.

Communication is a base of healthy relationship between the parents and the teachers, so the need for maxmising the use of portal communication was insisted. Salmiya Indian Model School’s motto of giving holistic education to children was stressed by asking the teachers to give equal importance to General knowledge and co-curricular activities. Giving every student an equal opportunity to express their ideas and talents during assembly programs was insisted .The program came to an end with an understanding by the teachers to hold on to the ethics of the profession and commitment to give their best in making the new session a fruitful and productive session .
