A Tribute to the Iron Hearted Men at Indian Community School Kuwait

Mrs. Shehnaz Gujral, rendered the welcome address, calling attention to the sorrowful incident which would forever taint the memory of that date. She called upon all who were gathered there to remember the sacrifice of the soldiers and pay homage to the departed souls.

A wreath presentation by the Principal Dr. V. Binumon, Vice Principal Dr. Sam T. Kuruvila, Deputy Vice Principal Mrs. Susan Rajesh and Programme Coordinator Mrs. Shehnaz Gujral succeeded the student procession. In pitch dark, charity convener of each class, lit candles to commemorate the fallen soldiers. The candle light was passed on to all the students in audience turning the atmosphere painfully melancholic.

The Senior Administrator and Principal of ICSK (Senior), Dr. V. Binumon rendered the Oath of Honor, which reverberated through the whole auditorium, striking a chord in every single person’s heart.

The Indian Community School Kuwait (Senior) conducted a special programme on 18 February 2019 to pay homage to the CRPF Martyrs of Pulwana Attack. The special programme was conducted with an objective of apprising students about the importance of the Soldiers who lay their lives to protect their motherland. The CRPF Jawans’ Homage began with the recitation of the Islamic prayer by Mr. Riyaz and invoking the blessings of the Almighty with a prayer song by the school choir, Swaranjali.

A heartfelt patriotic song by Swaranjali was dedicated to the martyrs for their unforgettable valour which moved the audience with its intensity and emotion. Master Johann Premjith of 7- A, rendered a powerful speech where he proudly said that the youth of today denounces terrorism in all its forms and reiterates the need to combat these inhumane acts with a decisive and collective response. He deeply condemned the cowardly act and expressed condolences to the bereaved families and summoned all who were gathered there to stand by them in their hour of sorrow.A Hindi poem was beautifully recited by Miss Akanksha Pratap of 11th A. Mrs. Saman Fatima of Social Studies Faculty rendered another impactful speech, where she mentioned the fact that we are forever indebted to these brave soldiers for their supreme sacrifice in service of the nation. She reminded everyone that we owe our secure and happy lives to these security forces who work day and night for the country. She acknowledged the fact that we stand in solidarity with our nation, grieving with the families of the martyrs. A poignant skit was enacted by the students of class 7, which instilled a sense of patriotism and pride in the all those who witnessed it. Mr. George Swamy, Mr. Yusuf and Mrs. Sandhya presented a power point presentation along with voice narration that moved and inspired the audience.

As the programme neared its culmination, Mr. Joel rendered the Vote of thanks, which was followed by the intonation of the Indian National Anthem.
