Proposal to ban renting houses to expats in private residential areas

A committee will discuss a proposal to ban renting houses to expats in private residential areas. Expats will not be allowed to reside among Kuwaiti families unless they provide marriage contracts endorsed by Kuwaiti embassies abroad or local authorities, photocopies of their wives’ civil IDs, sign contracts with owners with separate civil numbers for the rented units and then register the contracts with area mayors.
