Indian national Omprakash is seeking support from kind hearted people for his treatment.

For the past 8 years Omprakash from Tiruvottiyur near Chennai was working for a private company which does clearing work in the Shuaiba port. On September 30, 2018, while clearing cargo from a ship at the port during the night shift, he fell down the cargo hold access ladder. The next thing he remembers is waking up in Adan hospital where he had to undergo a major operation on his spine.

From past one month the 36-year-old Omprakash is undergoing rehabilitation therapy in the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation hospital at Andulus, near the UN roundabout at the end of 4th ring road. He is paralyzed below the waist and does not have any sensation in the lower part of his body. After undergoing three months of rehabilitation therapy he expects to return to India in the middle of February.

Omprakash was working on a monthly salary of KD 158. Now that he is unable to work anymore, is concerned about his family’s future consisting his wife, who is a housewife and two school going children aged 11 and 9. While he is hopeful that he will get some money from an Insurance claim through the company he was working for, the amount might not be much considering his salary and also it may take time to complete the legal procedures to receive the funds. Omprakash can be contacted on his mobile 60702995.
