Kuwait Tamilosai Poets Association Celebrated “The RUBY Jubilee!”

Kuwait Tamilosai Poets Association (KTPA) Celebrated their 150th Monthly Literary Meeting-The Ruby Jubilee as “Wookkathamizh Maanicka Vizha!” on 05th Oct.-2018,Evening at Late Mr.Atlas Ansari-Kudavasal Anbazhakan Memorial Hall (Sangeetha Auditorium,Block-4,Mangaf,Kuwait.) The function enthusiastically commenced at 5:30 pm with the recitation of Tamil Anthem. KTPA’s President Mr.Robert Rethinasami delivered the welcome address and the theme song along with the choir. Poet Aaroor Sivaraman offered a special address on the renowned Tamii Scholar-Mystic of 19th Century Arutpirakaasa Vallalaar.

The function geared momentum as Lady Members lit the traditional Lantern-“Kuthu Vilakku!” followed by Tamil classical Dance “Bharatha Naattiyam” astonishingly performed by Baby Lakshika. KTPA’s Singers mesmerized the audience with their sweet musical songs and the Poets intonated beautiful poems that fascinated all. Custodian committee Poet U.K.Sivakumar described KTPA’s magnificent journey all these years in his note. Amazing variety cultural dance performances by the kids Master Mukil Vannan, Babies Porkuzhali Vidhyasagar and Dhanasri Pazhanisami enthralled the Audience.

A Tamil Novel of Historical Fiction entitled as “Porkkalaththil Oru Thirumanam!” written by the upcoming tamil writer Kollal H.Jose was introduced by the famous Tamil Writer-Poet Vidhyasagar with a welcoming note. Renowned Tamil literary Icon-Orator Mr.Pattukkottai Rajappa (Deputy Mangager (Marketing),The RAMCO Cements Limited,India) released the first copy of the novel which was received by KTPA’s Chief sponsor Dr.S.M.Hyder Ali,(Chairman,TVS Cargo & Travels Intl.Group,Kuwait).Copies were distributed to the guests and office bearers of fellow tamil organizations in Kuwait and Jose was honored by the team.

Jose expressed his sense of gratitude to all in particular for KTPA’s honorary President Poet S.Sadhik Batcha as he funded a major share. Dr.Hyder Ali admired KTPA for their sustaining efforts to enhance Tamil Literature,Arts and Culture in Kuwait among Tamil Diaspora, in his well-wishing note. All the major patrons of KTPA-The TVS Cargo & Travels Intl.Group, Al-Awdha Carpentry, Velldon Real Promoters,Bollywood Restaurant and Vivas-Kuwait were honored. Mr.Jaya Kumar,Founder-JK Promoters,Trichy, the main sponsor & special invitee from India was felicitated with a memento. His ‘Low priced Own House for Poor’ Project was successfully introduced in the program. All of the former Presidents of KTPA were honored with the title “Thakaththakaayath Thalaivar” which means Ever-shining President.

A splendid thoughtful debate conducted on the topic “Who would glorify Tamil?-whether The Compatriots or the Expatriate Tamils?”,glittered as the highlight of the function. Mr.Pattukkottai Rajappa served the role of Jury. Mrs.Josephine Robert and Engineer Hameed Rafeeq nicely argued for Expatriates’ side, counteracted well by Poet Pattukkottai Sathyan and Mrs.Gowri Selvam pleaded for Compatriots’ side. The verdict went in favor of Expatriates after a profound analysis by the Jury. Mr.Rajappa was felicitated with the prestigious title “Theenthamizh Thenee!” for his tireless Tamil Literary Service.

The entire course of the Program was well anchored by the KTPA’s women wing co-ordinator Mrs.Rumia Justin and Josephine Robert. Treasurer-Poet Shamsudeen,Deputy Secretary Mr.Mannai Raja,EC Members-Mr.Chatramanai Hasan Mohammed,Ashok,Poets-Yaqoob Ali,Pattukkottai Balu,Vadivel and Sharfudeen along with KTPA’s volunteer team, organized the arrangements for the program in perfection. The function concluded with a delicious dinner, partially sponsored by Amirtham Restaurant,Mangaf-Kuwait, served to all by 10 pm.
