ARMS4U: Power Up – A Day of Workshops

Arms4u an association dedicated to philanthropy and for the care & protection of the environment organized 'Power Up - A Day of Workshops' on Tuesday, 11th of September at the Symphony Hall in Riggae.

In addition to the workshop there was also the Arm4u's General Body Meeting.

The proceedings began with the General Body Meeting presided over by Alex John it's President. He spoke about the association's history, mission, it's past & future activities.
For the benefit of the members, Secretary Vattiyoorkavu Krishnakumar gave a presentation of the association's activities for the past two years and Prashant J.R. the treasurer presented the audited financial report.
The current panel of executives was then dissolved and a new panel announced & approved by the members.

The general body meeting was followed immediately by the 'Power Up' educational workshop. The event commenced with the traditional lighting of the lamp ceremony. The honour for lighting the lamp was first given to the guests N. Ajith Kumar and Dr. Manjusha Rajesh followed by Advisory committee member Shemej Kumar, President Alex John, Secretary Vattiyoorkavu Krishnakumar and Treasurer Prashant J.R.

The first event was a presentation and discussion of the various welfare schemes of NORKA by Mr. N. Ajith Kumar it's director in Kuwait. The Pravasi Pension Scheme attracted much attention from all gathered. It provides expat Keralites not older than 55 years of age an opportunity to earn a lifetime pension.

The second workshop by Dr. Manjusha Rajesh, PhD., was on 'Hypertension among Adolescents'. This was particularly interesting for all parents who were interested in knowing the best ways to care for their adolescent children based on the various findings of her research on the subject. She also demonstrated the technique of Progressive Muscle Relaxation useful for deep muscle relaxation.

Arms 4u charity convener Ramesh Nair discussed the various charity initiatives that was already planned for the days ahead and sought the cooperation of all members to make it a success.

The program me compering was done with finesse by executive member Rajesh Nair and the program me convener was executive member Bilal Rajameeran.

Arms4u have plans to conduct many such workshops in the future for the benefit of it's members.
