I was overwhelmed by the announcement made by the teachers that an exhibition (Khalifa Talal Al-Jerri Environment Competition) would be held on 18th April, 2018. The competition was based on the projects that contribute to sustainable development and reduce the negative effects in our beloved country Kuwait. I grabbed this opportunity to prove my skills in developing projects that involve scientific thinking. So I referred multiple resources and came up with an ecofriendly project that is Microbial Fuel Cell (MFC) which generates electricity from biodegradable waste. The advantages of MFC are:

•Sewage water can be converted via microbial fuel cell to decompose waste organic material combined with it.
•MFC can also be used to de-saline salt water.
•MFC can be used to produce hydrogen for use as an alternative fuel.

While constructing the project I was confronted with many difficulties. But I was not ready to give up. With the help of my parents and teachers I was successful with my project after several trials. I was well prepared to present myself with the project.

The competition was held at Cambridge English School, Mangaf. Almost 7 schools participated in the competition. Nottingham British school, Cambridge English School, Pakistan English School and College, Indian central school, Kuwait Indian school, etc.

On the day of the competition I was thrilled to present my project in front of the officials as well as to explore other projects. It was a long day filled with fun and an experience which arouse my quest for knowledge. At the end of the day when the result was announced I was spellbound since my project representing Indian Central School bagged Second prize.

All my hard work paid off and I enjoyed the bliss which I gained when I made my parents and teachers proud. I sincerely express my gratitude towards the Principal of I.C.S, Mrs. Shanta Maria James for giving me this opportunity to showcase my talent.
