Bhavans Eco Club Takes Off for New Heights

“We must conserve our environment and pass it on to our children in as good or better condition than it was passed to us.” Tagging this great thought in everyone’s heart Indian Educational School, Kuwait celebrated the commencement of the Eco Club activities for the academic year 2018-19, a new reach-out endeavour for the environmental cause from the Bhavans Family. Master Karthik Byju, the former secretary of the Club welcomed the august gathering with a warm welcome address. Master Daniel Thomas Koleth, former president of the club presented the annual report of the Eco Club activities for the academic year 2017-18.

The event was honoured by the gracious presence of Mr.T.Premkumar, the Principal, I ES and Mrs.Meenakshi Nayyar, the vice principal CCA. The Eco Warriors and the students of grade 8 and 9 were the chosen audience for the event. The following students were elected as the office bearers for the year 2018-19; President-Aaron Peter D’Cunha 9, Secretary-Jaice Joby Pullathil Class 9 and Vice President-Zara Imtiyaz Mahadiwala Class 7.

Mr.T.Premkumar, in his speech, stressed upon the importance of conserving energy and practicing cleanliness on the road to the making of a greener and better globe. He explained to the audience the consequences of global warming, which leads to problems like water scarcity, and also proposed to work in unison on the prospective solar panel system at the school. Principal also reminded the audience of the day to day activities like closing the taps properly and switching off the lights when not needed, which eventually would help in conserving our resources.

Mrs. Meenakshi Nayyar inspired and enlightened the audience with her motivating words. The most involved Eco club members of the previous year were presented with certificates of merits. Miss. Zara Imtiyaz Mahadiwala proposed the vote of thanks.

Thus, Bhavans’ quest for excellence through selfless service to the society continues to flow serenely letting the world around marvel at the smooth calm ripple-less flow of this magnificent perennial river.
