Kuwait witnesses bad weather accompanied by thunder storm

Kuwait witnessed bad weather condition on Friday accompanied by thunder storm, and southeasterly wind at around 50 kilometer/hour, all coupled with dust which minimized visibility on raods.

The day started with clear skies, but weather deteriorated in afternoon. Heavy rain was reported in different parts of Kuwait and was followed by strong winds and rain.

The General Fire Directorate warned the public to be careful and advised those planning to go on sea trips or fishing not to do so. Those already in the sea should quickly return to shore or dock at islands if they were close to them.

The Ministry of Interior (MoI) urged motorists to take precautions due to bad weather and low visibility.
All motorists need to be cautious and to keep their vehicle a distance apart from the car ahead of them, the ministry said in a press release.

The ministry added it was always reachable for emergencies on the emergency phone line: 112.
Meteorologist Abdulaziz Al-Qarawi forecasted yesterday there would be chances of rain throughout the weekend.

He said this would be followed by a cold wind that would accompanied by thunder storms.
Al-Qarawi expected the clouds to scatter by Saturday with modernate to fresh northwesterly wind at 20-45 km/h.
