Around 45,000 illegals benefit from amnesty

About 45,000 individuals who violated the Residency Law have benefited from the amnesty which was announced by the ministry to allow violators to amend their status or leave the country without paying fines.

According to Ministry of Interior, about 25,000 Residency Law violators have left the country through land and air borders; whereas about 20,000 amended their status after paying fines.

The Amnesty scheme was announced by the State of Kuwait from January 29th and later extended till Aprill 22nd 2018. Sources also expected that the number will increase. Authorities called on the remaining residency violators to benefit from the amnesty to leave the country or correct their status.
