Indian English Academy School makes Kuwait proud at the 25th National Children’s Science Congress (NCSC) 2017

At the recently concluded National Children’s Science Congress held in Ahmedabad, India from 27th to 31st December 2017, the students of Indian English Academy School (IEAS) brought laurels to the school and the country.

The two school teams that qualified from Kuwait for Nationals in the Seniors Category were:

Team I

Guide Teacher : Ms Sangeetha P.

Team members : Priyanka Pramod, Valence Fernandes, Fiona Gloria Vaz,Aaron Jacob, Sophia Sequeira

Team II

Guide teacher : Ms Bharti Takkar

Team members : Shaina D'Cunha, Elita Megan D'Souza, Gladwin
Sabu V, Sharlene Elsa Sanctis, Kenrick Dias

Team Leader : Shaina D'Cunha

Team II, led by Shaina Evanka D’Cunha and guided by Ms. Bharti Takkar, won a special outstanding award for their project “Study on the extraction and estimation of Asthaxanthin from shrimp shell waste”.

It was truly a coming together of young and bright child scientists at the Science city and SAL Educational Campus where IEAS kept the Kuwait flag flying high.

More than 750 teams from various parts of India as well as Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, Thailand, Philippines competed over four days and were judged by leading scientists from Vigyan Prasar under the Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India.

Team II, under the guidance of Ms. Bharti Takkar along with the support and valuable inputs from Ms. Nazima Habibi from K.I.S.R., made IEAS and Kuwait proud in the national arena of scientific excellence.

IEAS conveys a special thanks to all the volunteers of the event and the president of S.I.F., Mr Prashanth Nair and his entire team from Kuwait, who gave us this opportunity to represent Kuwait for this prestigious national event.
