The students of grades 7 and 8 had a novel experience of observing Applied Science in the pioneering institute of scientific excellence – KUWAIT INSTITUTE OF SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH (KISR) on 18th January 2018 with 55 in number accompanied by the Principal, Mr. Mahesh Iyer and Science teachers. The visit turned out to be an exposure to garner information and to dissolve the unfamiliarity towards the making of a process.

Set out in the morning with a fervid feel, the students were taken first to the display area of the miniature form of KISR’s largest project in renewable energy source that included solar panels and windmills to generate electricity. Then, they were led to Kuwait National Seismic Network (KNSN) to let them know the ways of how earthquake is measured and recorded. Environment and Life Science had more to demonstrate on the featured Modular Agricultural Production System which encompassed 162 plants growing in a minimal space under computer operated multilayered system.

The students’ understanding of the concepts were greatly expanded through this applied research and heralded the idea of putting science in action as the best way to have the precise study of science. Finally they were enriched about the department that functions on the studies of coastal regions and air pollution. The grand insight that students received from the expertise scientists equipped with patience and co-operation have established an impact among the participants.
