Men’s Voice and Choral Society staged 17th Annual Christmas Carols 2017

The Glory of Christmas by Men’s Voice and Choral Society—Kuwait Heralding the sounds of glory to the people of Kuwait, Men’s Voice and Choral Society staged their 17th Annual Christmas Carols at the Smart Indian School, Jleeb al Shuyoukh on 1st December 2017, to mark the beginning of the Christmas season.

The evening event opened with prayer by Rev. Fr. Jacob Thomas, Vicar of the St. Gregorious Indian Orthodox Maha Edavaka, Kuwait. Mr. Ninan Joseph, the General Convenor of the group, welcomed the guests and the audience to the concert. Under the able guidance of their choir master - Mr. Ajith Babu the performance of Men’s Voice and Choral Society was a real treat to the eyes and ears of those gathered. Another highlight was the seven-part harmonies for the song Vinnin Tharam rendered melodiously by the choir.

The Choir also took the opportunity to share about a charity project for providing a home to the homeless on this occasion. Launching a new Charity project called “Thanal” which means shade, the group announced the completion of their first project, a home for a financially backward family in Alappuzha District, Kerala India and its handing over by December 23rd.

Rev Georgie Varghese, Vicar of the Kuwait City Marthoma Parish Kuwait, felicitated the choir for their music and service during these past 17 years. A thought provoking and inspiring Christmas message was delivered by Rev. Levin Koshy, Vicar of the St. Paul’s CSI Congregation, Ahmadi. Mr. Suresh Thomas, the President of the Men’s Voice and Choral Society rendered the Vote of Thanks. Mr. Bobby Kurien added essence to the evening by compeering for the event.

One of the highlights of the evening was the rendition of the Program Theme Song: How should a King come?” by the choir. The evening culminated with the Choir singing ‘Silent Night’ followed by the closing prayer and benediction by Rev. Georgie Varghese. The organizers of this concert, who left no stoneunturned to ensure a memorable day for everyone, Mr. Akash John Thomas and Mr. Mathew M. Varghese, Mr. Thomas Thomas along with the office bearers Vice President - Mr. Mathew Varghese, Secretary - Thomas Varghese and Joint Secretary - Mr. Kurien George.
