Interior Ministry arrests Asian with 14,000 narcotic pills

The Ministry of Interior announced on Tuesday the arrest of an Asian national from Bangladesh for possessing 146,000 narcotic pills and psychotropic substances.

Mubarak Al-Kabeer Governorate's Intelligence Department kept tabs on the suspect and after acquiring a warrant, a sting operation was launched, said the ministry.

A deal took place between an undercover officer and the suspect to purchase 200 pills for KD 100, said the statement, adding that the perpetrator was arrested after strong resistance from his side.

The suspect confessed to the crime, and directed the officers to an apartment in which he has hidden 146,000 psychotropic inside 73 blue envelops, along with KD 404 cash for the purpose of trading and personal use, it said. The suspects and the seized substances were referred to the specialized bodies.
