No plans to reverse health fee hikes: Minister

Health Minister Dr Jamal Al-Harbi strongly denied social media reports claiming that his decision to increase health service fees for expatriates was going to be reversed.

He said that the decision has saved the state around 40 percent of medical expenses, solved the problem of overcrowding in public hospitals, and accelerated medicine and hospital beds provision.

Harbi also said that he has authorized hospital managers and heads of medical centers to exempt urgent expat cases from the fees, namely patients with heart diseases and those whose condition requires intensive care.
