Kindergartner's Day Out 2017

Monday, December 4, 2017

A child’s learning process starts comprehensively from the kindergarten level. They are introduced to the concepts of forming letters and numbers, speaking and writing skills, drawing, cutting moulding, reciting and narrating. It is an all-inclusive learning both visually and kinesthetically; indoor and outdoor. As most of the learning is done indoors, a small part is done outdoors as well. Picnics and field-trips form the outdoor learning part. An important part of providing quality education lies with children’s experiences outside of school. Taking the children out for picnics not only enhances their knowledge about the concepts learnt in the classroom but also serve as a kind of recreation and relaxation for the young minds. It further instills within them the feeling of oneness and strengthens their bond with their peers and teachers.

As we, at Bhavans IES and Jack and Jill follow the system of all-inclusive learning, we ensure that all aspects of it are catered to, with the best interests of the students and the school. The Upper-kindergartners of both the branches of Bhavans, went for a trip to the Kuwait scientific center, for viewing the grand aquarium and a 3D movie at the IMAX theatre. The lower Kindergarteners of Jack and Jill went for a trip, to their favorite place, namely the zoo! The little ones were overtly excited to go for the wonderful trip, they waited for so long. The parents were duly informed about the requirements for the trip through a circular sent by the school. The little ones came to school with their tiny backpacks, caps etc. The children boarded the buses from the school premises, escorted by their teachers at the scheduled time, i.e. at 8.00 AM. The whales and sharks appealed the little ones and the movie about the animals that they learnt in class fascinated them more, as it had a 3D effect. It was an enriching experience for them as they could sense everything live. As for the LKG, it was an even more lively experience to see their favourite animals, looking back at them amusedly. The teachers refurbished their knowledge about domestic/farm and wild animals. At around 11.30 AM the kids returned to the school excited as well as tired. They dispersed for their homes shortly after that.

The joyful experiences of childhood are never erased from our memories, as they form the best life experiences. So, the parents and teachers can play an important role in creating and recreating the best fun-filled days in a child’s life. The most important gift we could give our young children is the simplest and least expensive of all. It is the sheer time, opportunity, and joy of being a child exploring the natural world. The time spent in a playground, yard or park and the time spent together with their near and dear ones!
