As the curtain raiser for Shaastrotsav – Festival of Science, a robotic workshop was conducted on 24th and 25th November. The Robotic Workshop for students was inaugurated by Indian Central School Principal Dr. Santha Maria James. In her speech Dr. Santha Maria James appreciated NSS College of Engineering (Palakkad) Alumni Association – Kuwait Chapter for organizing such a technology based training workshop for the benefit of students, in association with Indiansinkuwait.com.

Robotic Workshop was conducted by RoboKart from India. RoboKart is well known in India for robotics and artificial intelligence. They have conducted hundreds of training workshops in robotics for university and school students in India.

The training workshop was of 8 hours duration, during which, students learned the theory and basics of robotics. Using Arduino and sensors students were taught to make line following and obstacle avoiding robots. Program included basics of electronics and associated technology.

At the end of training workshop contests were conducted for participating students on playing carroms using wired robots, demonstrating line following robotic skills.

As only limited number of students could be accommodated in the training workshop, participants were selected by pre-registration. Students expressed lot of enthusiasm and satisfaction in the robotics workshop. Engineers from NSS College of Engineering Alumni – Kuwait Chapter, were present throughout the 2 days of robotic workshop to assist RoboKart instructor Mr. Nithin Acharya and participants.
