Ministry signed agreement to provide online renewal of driving licenses

The Interior Ministry signed an agreement with a Polish company specialized in issuing smart driver’s licenses to allow drivers in Kuwait to renew their licenses online using their smartphones or at kiosks.

The project aims at renewing driving licenses through a smartphone app, as well as kiosks which will be distributed to markets and malls in all governorates to provide easier services presented to citizens and expatriates in Kuwait.

This new measure will enable speedy processing of transactions instead of following the current procedures of handing the old license and receiving the new one, thus reducing crowding at traffic departments. The new system will enable citizens and expats to renew their licenses through mobile phones. The old system will remain until everybody gets used to the new one, which will save time and money of citizens and expats who wish to use it.
