Kala(Art) Kuwait Keraleeyam 2017 Inaugurated by Indian Embassy Second Secretary Mr. P. P. Narayanan

Kala(Art) Kuwait, a leading Progressive Art and Socio Cultural Organization among the Indian Community in Kuwait conducted its variety entertainment program titled as “Keraleeyam 2017” on Friday, 10th November 2017 at Indian Community School, Khaithan. The function was officially inaugurated by Mr. P. P. Narayanan, Indian Embassy Second Secretary (Welfare) and in his inaugural speech Mr. P. P. Narayanan appreciates the efforts behind conducting such an event of unity.

The program was scheduled with an event of presenting “Kala (Art) Kuwait-Sambasivan Award 2016” to the legend of Kadhaprasanga Art, Dr. Vasanthakumar Sambasivan. The prestigious award and memento was presented to Dr. Vasanthakumar Sambasivan by Mr. P. P. Narayanan in presence of a cheerful audience. “Sambasivan Award” was instituted in memory of eminent 'Katha Prasangam' artist late V. Sambasivan. The award comprises Rs 25,000 and citation. Dr. Vasanthakumar Sambasivan had been selected unanimously for his outstanding contribution to the “Kadhaprasanga” realm.

Dr. Vasanthakumar Sambasivan then addressed the audience followed by the most anticipated performance of Kadhaprasangam “Aneesya” with his team in presence of the eminent personalities from various organizations and enthusiastic audience of Kuwait. In addition to this, there were Music concert (Ganamela) lead by Kumari Namitha Sivakumar and Kumari Sneha Rathidas. Mimics Parade by Mr. Vibin Kalabhavan and Group dance and a fusion cinematic dance coordinated by Mrs. Ambili Rakesh.

Mr. Samkutty Thomas, President of Kala (Art) Kuwait chaired the meeting. Mr. Sunil Kumar, General Secretary done welcome speech and Mr. Siva Kumar, General Convener presented the detailed reports about Keraleeyam. Kala (Art) Kuwait Media Secretary Mr. Mukesh V. P. delivered felicitation speech. A Multi Color Souvenir was released by Mr. Vinayan, Kuwait National Exchange (KNE) and Mr. Muneer Koya, Manager Faber Castell by handing over the first copy to Mr. Rathidas. Mr. Hassan Koya expressed vote of thanks. Kala (Art) Kuwait leaders Mr. C. Bhaskaran, Mrs. Renuka Bhaskaran, Mr. Johny Kalamachal, Mr. Jaison Joseph, Mr. Sameer P P, Mrs. Aneecha Shyjith, Mr. Rakesh P.D. and Mr. Vibin were also present on the dais.
