I Feel, I Need You

The life of a river is beautifully depicted in the poem “The Brook” written by Alfred Lord Tennyson.
My English teacher Mr.E.P.Prasad sir, helped us to visualize the life of a river as a story through his powerful presentation. His explanation helped us to focus on nature in a very different perspective.

The discussion went on with the transformation of a river from the pure form to the present polluted stage. He mentioned about many rivers which are undergoing their last stage. He surprised us by telling the glorious life of Bharathappuzha River and we felt very sad on hearing the current devastating stage of it.

This brought us to a state to think about the nearby rivers in our place. The pathetically polluted stage of Killiar river, a tributary of Karamana river at Thiruvananthapuram came to my mind, as my house is very close by the river. The most important component essential for human life is getting polluted.
Here is a small poem based on the above thought and my grievancce

I Feel, I Need You

I feel low when no one’s near me
I feel proud when you are near me
I feel good excited with monsoon
I feel tickled when fish swim on me

Many try to free me from pollution
Many seems to enjoy dumping waste
Making me free is not an easy task
But making me free will makes you free

I love the people who love me, who care me
I hate the people who deny me, waste me
I run down the hills, to see you every time
But you neglect me; even I am your every day need.
