Sheikh Jaber Bridge to be ready by the end of 2018

Sheikh Jaber Bridge, which stretches for 36 kilometers across Kuwait Bay, will finish by end of 2018, Minister of Public Works Abdulrahman Al-Mutawaa re-affimred on Sunday.

The bridge linking Kuwait City with Al-Sabbiya, one of the State mega projects in its development strategy, shortens the distance between the capital and the town of the other side of the bay, from 104 kilometers to 36 kms. Motorists will be able to cross the distance in 30 minutes, instead of 90 minutes on the long land route, said the minister who also reiterated that 84 percent of the construction works have been finalized.

The minister, who noted that various snags and obstacles have emerged in the road ventures’ execution, affirmed that all necessary standards were observed to safeguard the marine life.

The unfinished Sheikh Jaber Bridge, currently, can be easily seen with bare eyes from Kuwait City shores.
