Friends of Kannur Kuwait Expat’s Association Celebrating “Kannur Mahotsavam 2017”

Friends of Kannur Kuwait Expat’s Association (FOKE) is a registered non-profitable, non-political, non-religious socio-cultural organization of Kannur district expat community living in Kuwait. In connection with their 12th Anniversary celebrations, the prestigious annual mega program of FOKE, “Kannur Mahotsavam 2017” will be held on Friday, 27th October 2017 at Indian Central School, Abbassiya from 03:00pm onwards. The function will be presided over by FOKE President Shri. Biju Antony. Second Secretary (Community Welfare) of the Embassy of India to Kuwait, Shri. P.P. Narayanan and Farwaniya Police Chief will be the Chief Guests and other senior guests also will offer felicitations.

FOKE has been awarded the GOLDEN FOKE AWARD for the past 10 years for those who have shown their ability in various fields. Award for this year was announced during a press meeting held on September 5, 2017, in Kannur Press Club that was attended by award juries Mr. KKR Vengara, Mr. KK Marar and Mr. Dinakaran Kompilath in presence of FOKE award committee members Mr. Jitesh. MP, Mr. Surendran. B.P. and Charity Secretary Mr. Sasikumar. Mr. K.V. Gopi won the award for his valuable contribution in the agricultural sector in the district. Mr. Gopi has won many awards from Organic farming and Animal Husbandry. A sculpture designed by Sri KKR Vengara, cash prize of Rs.25000 and a citation will be handed to him during the function. Meritorious Awards for FOKE member’s children, who excelled in Secondary and Higher Secondary examinations will also be honoured on this occasion.

“RAGHAVEEYAM”, a memorial musical program of late Sri. Raghavan Master (famous music composer from Kannur) lead by Sri. Kanhangad Ramachandran (famous play back singer) will be held followed by his Memorial Speech which will be another highlight of this Programme.

Also, a high packed entertaining musical program headed by famous Play back singer Shri. Kanhangad Ramachandran along with the leading singer Mrs. Harsha Chandran and famous mappilapattu singer Mr. Tanzir Koothuparambu will be held followed by a magic dance performance by Mr. Niyas Kannur and folk songs by famous artists from Kuwait. FOKE welcomes all expatriate communities in Kuwait to be a part of this celebrations and make the function a grand success.

Focusing on social activities and charity activities in Kannur district and in Kuwait, one of the main tasks for 2018 is to build a home for a homeless family where some firms came forward to join this mission with FOKE.
