“As the young leaders of tomorrow, you have the passion and the energy and commitment to make a difference. What I’d like to really urge you to do is to have a global vision. Go beyond your country: go beyond your national boundaries.”- Ban Ki-moon (UN Secretary General 2007-2016)

Fahaheel Al-Watanieh Indian Private School (DPS) has proven this statement true by engaging their students in the competitive sport of Model United Nations for the past several years. The Harvard Model United Nations India is the international session of the longest running Model UN in the world. This year, FAIPS-DPS sent a school team of 28 students to Hyderabad from 12th – 15th August and they have proved their mettle once again, in one of their best performances yet. Jaidev Shriram (grade 12) and Aishwarya Shaji (grade 11) received an Honorable Mention in the United Nations Security Council. Sushyant Sridhar (grade 11) also received an Honorable Mention in the Organization of American States. Anjali Sunil (grade 12) and Shabenandan Gopi Krishna (grade 12) received a Verbal Mention in the Historical Security Council. Ruth Rachel Zachariah (grade 10) also received a Verbal Mention in the Disarmament and International Security Committee. FAIPS-DPS is extremely proud of their achievement in one of the most competitive and enriching MUNs in the world, as it demonstrates the impact of leadership, experience and most importantly, hard work. As rightly said by Kofi Annan, the 7th UN Secretary General who was the co-recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize along with the United Nations, “You are never too young to lead”. FAIPS-DPS wishes all the future leaders the best of luck!
